As this cinematic landmark approaches its 20th anniversary, we've perceived our time has come to lay out our love for all things Middle-Earth. In this episode we dive into our own histories with The Lord of the Rings, and where we are going on this unexpected journey. And then we kick off our coverage proper with a look at Galadriel's prologue to The Fellowship of the Ring. Go where you must go, and hope!

What an great first episode!! The hosts have terrific chemistry and bring their different interests and perspectives to bear. I loved hearing about Manu‘s relationship to movies as a whole (with LOTR as a cinematic ”nexus”) and Emily‘s historical overview of how the series relates to time and gender. Very intelligent discussion of the craftsmanship and relationship to the source material. Can‘t wait to hear more!
